On a stretch of Interstate 81 in VA, where the posted speed limit is 70, she was clocked at 93, 97 and 94. At least she’s consistent.

Truthfully, she might be even more consistent than the cop’s readings of her. I’m guessing speedo to “95" and held.

Speed limit is 70 but traffic regularly moves at 85.
Shit gets real when you find yourself doing almost 90 up a hill with a semi on your ass

In other news, there’s apparently a section of 81 that isn't clogged with trucks doing the speed limit.

Interesting choice of a route to drive cross country, I’m guessing 64 to 81 to points beyond before heading west. Not the route I would take but hey to each his/her own. I’m guessing the state troopers noticed when they saw her flying past all the truck traffic that is routinely doing 75-80.

Wait - the first cop busted her twice 41 minutes apart when she’s going 90+? HOW FAST WAS HE GOING?
Seriously, though. She’s toast. VA is going to issue a tuition sized bill to her.

Doesn’t matter. Don’t you know that it’s only unsafe for cars that aren’t government Crown Vics or Tauruses to speed?

Yeah, not the best way to reach I-40 from Hampton Roads. 58 to 85 or 95 would have saved lots of time. But then this story would probably have said she's in jail in Franklin or Emporia instead.

I used to live in Norfolk, right across the water from Hampton. There is really no good way to go directly west from Hampton Roads, unless you use US 58, which is a hellishly slow road. It’s a pretty drive, but that’s about it. I-64 to I-81 is out of the way, but it’s really the best way.

I’ve never found I-81 to be too bad with that. Transitioning to I-40 was much worse, especially on the Asheville - Knoxville stretch, which is narrow and bendy to keep those trucks going extra slow.

In 33 years of driving, I have never been stopped for speeding. Other things, yes, but not speeding. Knock on wood, I guess.

Exactly. You get one ticket or see a cop on a road and its kept at the speed limit. Maybe she thought they only give out one ticket per person per day?

There is a 41 minute gap between the first 2 tickets, she may have stopped for food or gas or whatnot, allowing the officer to pass her.

Difficult to tell. The car has alternate windshield wipers ( the kind that go | | to the edge of the window) and there's not much out there like that. Civic or Focus maybe?
